Magic mirror on the wall, who's the ugliest of them all? 

Allow us to introduce you to the Africa’s underdog animals, known as The Ugly Five. The members of this most exclusive of clubs are: vulture, hyena, warthog, wildebeest, and the marabou stork. 

Marabou Stork - Nicknamed “the undertaker bird” because of its appearance, eating anything from animal carcasses to fish and other birds (even flamingos!). Ew!  Compare to other more glamorous & dazzling animals such as the lion or the elephant, the marabou stork plays an important role despite of their unique features; as they have something fascinating to offer to the entire animal food chain. 

This is what we aim to deliver to our children. A message: that everyone is equally important despite who we are or our circumstances. We are connected to each other. So be proud of ourselves, no matter what.

These less-than-ideal looking animals served as the inspiration for the kids’ artwork & we have to say some of them look much better than how we remember it. We hope you find these new designs as inspiring as much as the kids enjoy drawing them.
